Motherhood on Mpali isn’t for the faint-hearted. Whether it's standing in the face of heartbreak, scandal, betrayal, or even murder, these moms prove that their love is fierce, loyal and sometimes dangerous. This Mother’s Day, we shine a spotlight on the women of Mpali who would do absolutely anything for their children.

Lindiwe – The Grieving Warrior

Lindiwe is not just grieving the death of her daughter Bupe: she’s on a mission. Now married to Alexander, she is a mother on a warpath, determined to uncover who is behind her daughter’s death. Her pain has turned into purpose, and nothing, not even her new husband, will stand in her way. Lindiwe’s strength lies in her resolve: she protects even in death.

Beenzu – The Loyal Protector

Raising Shadreck has not been easy, especially when your son fathers a child with his uncle’s youngest wife. But Beenzu has never wavered in her support. She stands by Shadreck even in his most shameful moments, proving that a mother’s love doesn’t flinch—even when the world is watching.

Junza – The Silent Shield

First wife to Nguzu and devoted mother to Hambe, Junza’s loyalty to her son has been tested over and over. From his reckless relationships to his run-ins with the law, Junza has remained by his side. Her most shocking act of devotion? Helping Hambe hide a child from Chola, one of the many women he left heartbroken. Junza's love is quiet, consistent, and unwavering—even when it crosses the line.

Sepiso – The Ruthless Protector

Sepiso will go to extremes to protect what she believes belongs to her children. Estranged from Alexander, she still demands that his attention be reserved for their family only. Her obsession with control turned lethal when she accidentally orchestrated Bupe’s death and left Monde in a wheelchair. Sepiso is a reminder that a mother’s love, when twisted by jealousy and rage, can become deadly.

Mwiza – The Mother of the Farm

She may be Mwanida’s biological mother, but Mwiza has embraced many children into her care. Whether it's her niece Malita, the troubled Nuru, or even Frank—her former son-in-law—Mwiza provides a safe space and wise counsel. She’s the emotional backbone of the farm, mothering not just her daughter, but a whole community.

The mothers of Mpali are far from perfect—but that’s what makes them unforgettable. They love loudly, protect fearlessly, and fight for their children, even when the world calls them out. This Mother’s Day, we honour them all.
